How to understand the code of Zener Diode, usually you can easily follow the part number or read the marking on the Zener Diode body, such as below:

5.1=5.1 Volt zener diode

5V1=5.1 Volt zener diode

12= 12 Volt zener diode

12V= 12 Volt zener diode

BZX85C22=22 Volt 1 watt zener diode

BZV55C4V7=4.7 Volt 500m watt zener diode

But sometimes you have to read the datasheet and find our the exact meaning of the Zener Diode voltage and power dissipation, for instance 1N4727A-1N4761A series 

1N4739A = 9.1 Volt zener diode

1N4754A = 39 Volt zener diode

WEET 1N4148, LL4148 and Zener Diodes BZV55C Packing:

1N4148 usually refers to DO-35 glass seal, axial pin, through hole type. It can be taped in ammo or packed in bulk.

LL4148 and BZV55C are surface mount SMD type, only available in tape and reel packing. 7 inch and 13 inch paper or plastic tape for choose.

WEET 500mW LL4148 Diode Description

A diode is a device which allows current flow through only one direction. That is the current should always flow from the anode to the cathode. LL4148 is a Silicon Epitaxial planar diode with an identification of cathode band(which is easy to indentify by the blacking ring mark from the filler in the glass package), comes in glass package version. It has high conductance and high reliability. The specialty of this diode is its fast recovery time of 8ns to 4ns only at a forward current of 300mA, hence this diode is used in places where extremely fast switching is involved. The main use of this diode is for extreme fast switches. LL4148 is used in various projects like heat monitoring, detecting the state of LED to control another circuit and many other electronic circuits
